Strong growth of PI in Mexico in 2021

In spite of the difficulties created by the Covid-19 pandemic, Mexico has strengthened its position as world leader for the use of phytosanitary irradiation.

The National Service of Agrifood Health and Quality of Mexico (SENASA) recently revealed that the volume of irradiated fresh produce exported in 2021 reached 35,043 tons, a 30 % growth over the previous year. The growth over the past 5 years can be found here.
