Registration for the next PsIP webinar ‘Fruit Quality: Phytosanitary Irradiation vs Conventional Post Harvest Treatments’ is now open, taking place 21 March 2024, 11am – 12pm PST. This is the second webinar in our latest series discussing phytosanitary irradiation and it’s effects on the quality of fresh produce post-harvest.
These webinars offer industry insights, solutions to technical barriers, and comparisons of Phytosanitary Irradiation with other technologies. Presented by two industry experts, they cover topics relevant to all stakeholders, followed by Q&A sessions. Recordings will be available on the PsIP website and YouTube channel for later viewing.

“Insect disinfestation treatments are pivotal in safeguarding agricultural commodities against pest infestations, while maintaining international trade standards. Among these treatments, phytosanitary irradiation has emerged as a promising technology that has been valuable in reducing trade barriers. This webinar will provide a comparison between phytosanitary irradiation and conventional insect disinfestation methods, including fumigation, cold treatment, and heat treatment on fruit quality, especially as related to the value it provides in the commercial supply chain.”
