Australia- New Zealand approval of PI for all fruit and vegetables gazetted

On July 22, 2021 Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) published the Gazettal of Amendment No. 201 to its website that includes amendments resulting from the following application A1193.

The new provisions permitting the irradiation of all fresh fruit and vegetables as a means of controlling the spread of insect pests like fruit fly across our quarantine borders  follows FSANZ’s May 2021 approval of an application by the Queensland Government Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.
