Comments requested on draft annex to ISPM 28

On July 1, 2022, the ISPM published the draft of an annex to ISPM28 concerning the irradiation treatment for the Jack Beardsley mealybug (Pseudococcus jacksbeardleyi)

The treatment was first submitted in 2017 but further information from the submitter was requested.

The treatment describes the irradiation of fruits, vegetables and ornemental plants at a minimum dose of 166 Gy to prevent development of F1 in  second-instar nymphs from mature adult females of Pseudococcus jacksbeardleyi at the stated efficacy.
