‘Unlocking the Potential of Phytosanitary Irradiation’ at IMRP 2024
The PsIP is hosting ‘Unlocking the Potential of Phytosanitary Irradiation’ workshop, which will be held Sunday 3 November 2024, immediately prior to IMRP 2024.
Initially developed as the ‘From Theory to Practise – Addressing Challenges’ workshop attended by approved applicants, this event will now continue to be organised as an invite-only workshop. The objective of this event will be to identify the necessary steps to support phytosanitary irradiation and to agree actions that will promote industry growth.
The meeting will begin with an introduction and regional updates covering the Americas, EMEA, and Asia Pacific. Attendees will then be divided into six groups to debate key topics such as regulatory issues, growers, wholesale/retail, investment, and technology. Following these group discussions, each group will present their findings, which will lead into a Q&A session and further debate. The meeting will continue with a focus on the strategic actions that can be undertaken to support and promote industry growth. The workshop will conclude with a discussion on the future role of the PsIP.
Invitations will be sent directly to selected participants, who are encouraged to share their expertise and take advantage of this rare opportunity to engage with the global phytosanitary irradiation community.
30/09/2024 UPDATE: We are now inviting iia members with an interest in Phytosanitary Irradiation to apply to attend this event. If you wish to attend this workshop, please contact the PsIP team at psip_team@iiaglobal.com by Tuesday 8 October 2024 with an expression of interest, including a short explanation of why you would like to participate in this event.
