Revised version of ISPM 18 published

The revised ISPM 18 is now available on the IPPC website.

The International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures 18  (Requirements for the use of irradiation as a phytosanitary measure) was published in 2003.  The purpose of ISPM 18 is to provide generic requirements for the application of ionizing radiation as a phytosanitary measure, specifically for those treatments adopted under ISPM 28 (Phytosanitary treatments for regulated pests).
This first revision undertaken in 2020 was adopted by the Seventeenth Session of the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures in March 2023 and published on April 14, 2023. The commercial experience accumulated over the past 20 years has led to a number of text improvements. The use of X-rays up to an energy of 7.5 MeV is included.
