PsIP participation in IAEA/FAO CRP
The Phytosanitary Irradiation Platform (PsIP) participated in a Research Coordination Meeting of CRP (Coordinated Research Projects) D61026 at the IAEA in December 2024. A key focus of the meeting focused on research relating to Mealybugs and Lepidoptera with the aim of establishing appropriate generic irradiation doses. The CRP will not conclude until early 2027.

Those interested in phytosanitary irradiation will find the following 3 links of value:
- Development of Phytosanitary Irradiation Doses for Anthropod Pests – Published by the Florida Entomologist as a special issue in October 2016 this document provides a valuable insight into issues relating to the application of generic doses for phytosanitary irradiation.
- International database on Insect Disinfestation and Sterilisation – Produced and updated by the IAEA this document provides a valuable reference point for those interested in phytosanitary irradiation and SIT.
- Dosimetry for Food Irradiation
The value of generic doses was a focus of PsIP’s 2024 webinar series. Click on this link for access to the webinar – Comprehensive Generic Doses for Phytosanitary Irradiation.
