New webinar series – Phytosanitary Irradiation: Understanding & Unlocking Potential – Second Webinar
The PsIP is pleased to share details of the second webinar in its series that aims to share information and promote collaboration on the use of irradiation for phytosanitary purposes. Through these webinars, PsIP seeks to open an ongoing dialogue that will identify the needs and challenges of those industries involved in the production and cross border trade of fresh produce.
Each webinar includes a contribution from an expert speaker who will provide insight and discuss topics that are critical to the development of trade and phytosanitary irradiation.
The second webinar is going to be presented on August 30th (08:00 am AEST). In this occasion the guest speaker is Sally Ormiston (Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry of Australia) who introduces her topic “Phytosanitary Irradiation: An Australian Perspective”. A brief introduction about this:
“In an increasingly complex biosecurity and trade environment, tools such as irradiation will play an increasing role in supporting the movement of fresh produce both domestically and around the globe into the future. I will share insights into the trade policy perspective of the Australian government, the regulatory landscape supporting use of irradiation in Australia, and where the future opportunities lie.”
